In order to protect the safety of children who attend MEND 7-13 programs across the US, MEND is proud to participate in the SafetyNET pilot project providing extensive background checks on all Program Leaders interacting with the children. MEND 7-13 is able to participate in SafetyNET as a registered member of the National Mentoring Partnership. SafetyNET is a pilot program for conducting criminal background checks included in the PROTECT Act passed by Congress in March 2003.
